Legend Press has acquired a new crime novel by former BBC journalist Bea Davenport.
Commissioning editor Lauren Parsons bought world rights directly from the author.
Drawing on Davenport’s own experience as a print and broadcast journalist reporting on crimes in the North East, This Little Piggy is set during the 1984 miners' strikes and follows journalist Clare Jackson as she investigates a shocking murder amid escalating violence in the community.
Parsons said: “This Little Piggy is a gripping look at a community in turmoil and is full of secrets, tension and emotion. This book is simply unputdownable”.
This Little Piggy will be a lead title for autumn, tobe published on 1st October 2014. Davenport’s debut In Too Deep was ublished by Legend Press in June 2013. Her children’s novel, The Serpent House, is to be published by Curious Fox in June 2014.
