Legend Press has acquired world rights in a new novel from crime writer Jane Isaac, titled Before It’s Too Late.
Lauren Parsons, commissioning editor of Legend Press, said: “We truly believe she is one of the most exciting female crime authors in the UK at the moment, and this novel had us gripped from the first page to the last.”
The book follows Chinese student Min Li, who is knocked out and abducted whilst walking the dark streets of Stratford-upon-Avon alone following an argument with her British boyfriend. The first chapter sees Min waking up in a dark pit trapped in total isolation. Detective Inspector Will Jackman is given the job of leading the investigation, discovering a web of secrets and lies that force him to break down political and cultural barriers, and also fight his own demons in order to track down the kidnapper before it’s too late.
Isaac, who lives in rural Northamptonshire, studied creative writing with The Writers Bureau and the London School of Journalism. Her short stories have appeared in several crime fiction anthologies and she has previously had two other novels published: The Truth Will Out (Legend Press) and An Unfamiliar Murder (US publisher, Rainstorm Press).
Legend Press will publish Before It’s Too Late on 1st July 2015 as a lead title for the summer.
