L,B signs two from journalist

<p>Little, Brown has signed a two-book deal for novels by debut author, international journalist Kathleen McCaul.<br /><br />Senior editor for Piatkus fiction, Emma Beswetherick, acquired world rights from Charlie Viney at The Viney Agency. <br /><br />The first title in the deal, <em>The Ashram Murders of New Delhi</em> features British journalist Ruby Jones who has travelled to Delhi in order to fulfil her dream of becoming an international news correspondent. However, when her flat-mate is found dead she puts her investigative skills to use to discover the dark secrets behind the yoga classes her housemate attended. </p><p>The title is the first in a crime series set in India starring Jones. Details of the second book are yet to be revealed.<br /><br />Beswetherick said: &quot;What we fell in love with was the vitality of Kathleen&rsquo;s writing and the idea of a crime series set in such a colourful and unpredictable country. I can&rsquo;t think of any other crime novels that combine yoga and murder.&quot; </p>
