With regards to the festive period Amy Worth, head of books buying at Amazon.co.uk, said this Christmas looks "set to be bigger than ever before".
She added: "On the book store we’re seeing a lot of interest in biographies and this Christmas there is a biography to suit anyone customers may be buying a gift for, from Tony Blair to Aleksandr the Meerkat, Cheryl Cole or Keith Richards.
"Non-fiction is really leading the way in the run up to Christmas with cookery books also doing well. Nigella Lawson and Jamie Oliver are already high in the bestseller and most wished for lists and Jamie is the one really capturing customers’ imagination at the moment having spent more than three weeks at the top of the chart since launch with his latest title Jamie’s 30-Minute Meals."
