Stieg Larsson has become the first member of the Kindle Million Club, selling more than one million paid for e-books of his work on Amazon.com.
Russ Grandinetti, vice president of Kindle Content, said: "Larsson's books have captivated millions of readers around the world and ignited a voracious interest in the lives of its main characters Lisbeth Salander and Michael Blomqvist.
"It's been exciting to have been a part of introducing so many people to these great books."
All three books in Larsson's Millenium Trilogy - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest - are in the top 10 bestselling Kindle books of all time.
The books are published by Quercus in the United Kingdom and the Knopf Doubleday imprint of Random House in the United States.
