Ladybird partners with Mirror

Ladybird has partnered with the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror for a second year in a free book promotion which launches tomorrow [4th February] and runs for three weeks, with 100 titles involved in the giveaway.

A token will be published every day in the newspapers, and readers will be able to exchange two tokens for a free book, and can collect up to 25 books per individual. Schools are able to apply for all 100 books.

The books in the promotion will include titles featuring characters such as Spot, Peter Rabbit and Hello Kitty.

Daily Mirror editor Richard Wallace said: "We are very aware of the impact that the current economic situation is having both on our readers and on schools. And we feel that if we can help bring new books to children that might otherwise not receive them, then we should most certainly help."

Ladybird editorial director Heather Crossley said: "I am thrilled that we are working with the Mirror for a second year on such an exciting promotion. The wide range of Ladybird books on offer means there is something for every child, no matter what their age."

Last year, Ladybird and the Mirror reported 1.5 million books were redeemed in the promotion.
