Octopus imprint Kyle Books has scooped a new cookbook from Darina Allen featuring 100 simple one pot recipes.
Publisher Joanna Copestick acquired world rights in all languages from HHB Literary Agency. One Pot Feeds All will be published on 19th September.
The book is Allen’s 17th and features meals including roasting tray dinners, casserole stews, tagines. Its synopsis explains: “Whether cooking for a crowd, a family or just for yourself, these flexible recipes range from lighter meals such as soups, baked eggs and frittatas to hearty curries and even desserts. Simply pop in your ingredients and let the hob oven do the work. No complicated techniques and little space or washing up required. What’s not to like?”
Allen is the author of Ballymaloe Cookery Course (Kyle Books) and Forgotten Skills of Cooking (Kyle Books), which won the André Simon award in 2009. She campaigns for local produce, is a member of Slow Food Ireland and set up the country’s first farmers' market. She has won many prizes including the Guild of Food Writers' Lifetime Achievement award in 2013.
She said: “This book is for all of you super busy people who dash home, tired and exhausted from work, pick up a bag of groceries but still want to cook a wholesome meal from scratch for your family. Home cooking is by far the most important kind of food, so here are my favourite recipes for one pot, one casserole, one roasting tin of deliciousness.”
