Kurt Vonnegut dies at 84

<p>Kurt Vonnegut died last night in Manhattan at the age of 84. According to the <em>New York Times</em>, his wife, Jill Krementz, said that after a fall several weeks ago, the author had suffered brain injuries.</p><p>Born in 1922, Vonnegut was the youngest of three children and lived through the Depression, his mother&#39;s suicide, and being captured as a prisoner of war during World War II. His famous book, <em>Slaughterhouse-Five</em>, is based on his experience during the war.
