Korean street food book to Mitchell Beazley

Octopus Publishing Group’s Mitchell Beazley imprint has acquired a new Korean cookbook from the founders of a street food company.

Denise Bates, group publishing director at Octopus, bought world rights to K Food: Korean Home Cooking and Street Food by Da-Hae and Gareth West from Anna Power at Johnson & Alcock.

The Wests are founders of street food company Busan BBQ and K Food is their first cookbook.

Bates said: “It’s wonderful that the really fantastic, full-on food of Korea is starting to be much better known.

“Da-Hae and Gareth have an unerring instinct for how to combine traditional dishes and casual street food influences, with unbelievably delicious results.”

Da-Hae said: “In K Food we cover the recipes that I’ve grown up with along with our own take on Korean food. They might not always be traditional, but they’re the foods we love and we hope everyone else enjoys them as much as we do.”

K Food will be published as a £20 hardback on 5th May 2016.
