Kogan Page narrows losses; Helen Kogan to become m.d.

<p>Independent publisher Kogan Page has recorded an operating loss of &#163;297,000 for the 12 months to 30th June 2004, halving the figure from &#163;631,000 in the previous year.</p><p>Last year's operating losses were partially offset by the sale of the company's Earthscan imprint and its higher education list to Routledge, resulting in a net loss of &#163;312,000. </p><p>Operating losses narrowed this year as gross profit rose by 12.7% to &#163;2.1m following a three-year restructure.
