Kobo has expanded its distribution channel in France with the addition of retailers Pixmania, Cora, Casino, Auchan, and Boulanger. Its e-readers will now be available for the holiday season at hundreds of stores across France.
"The appetite for digital reading is gaining momentum in France,” said Jean-Marc Dupuis, managing director of EMEA, Kobo. "Expanding on our partnership with FNAC France, we’re excited these new retailers will make Kobo available to people passionate about reading”.
This move follows the Kobo's recent expansion in several other countries. It launched in India in October this year thanks to partnerships with bookstores Crossword, W H Smith and electronic store Croma. It also announced a partnership with Irish chain Eason in October, to sell Kobo e-reading devices in 60 Eason stores throughout the country and on its website, as well as opening a new European Software Development Centre in Dublin.
