Kingfisher slips from Lagardere's grip

<p>The future of Kingfisher Publications was in the balance this week as it emerged that the UK children's publisher was left out of the sale of Vivendi Universal Publishing (VUP).</p><p>The European assets of VUP, including some prestigious French houses and the UK dictionaries publisher Chambers Harrap, were sold to Lagardere last month in a deal still to be approved by the French competition authorities.
