Kindle Cloud Reader arrives in UK

Amazon has launched its Kindle Cloud Reader app, which allows customers to read Kindle books using only their web browser, in the UK.

Amazon.co.uk customers can use the app to read their Kindle books online or offline, with no download or installation required. It automatically synchronizes the user’s Kindle library, as well as their last page read, bookmarks, notes, and highlights.

Jorrit Van der Meulen, vice president at Kindle EU, said: “Kindle Cloud Reader is another big step in our ‘Buy Once, Read Everywhere’ mission… You can truly start reading instantly—no download or installation.”

The app is compatible with desktop browsers Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer, and Safari on the iPad.

Amazon launched the cloud tool in the US in 2011. Amazon.co.uk customers can access it online.
