Albion Bookshop, an independent Kent-based bookshop, is to close two stores because of financial difficulties. Its branches in Cliftonville and Broadstairs will shut in the next few months after what proprietor Paul Kemp described as "a combination of economic factors: not enough money coming in and too much going out".
Kemp's father, Alan, established the business in 1956 and opened other stores in Folkestone and Canterbury, but these have since closed.
Kemp will continue to run Albion's second hand book department, also in Broadstairs, after the closures but has no firm plans for the future.
