Paul Kelly, DK's chief finance officer and strategy director, has been named president of DK US, putting him in charge of the illustrated reference publisher's largest market.
Kelly will take on the leadership of DK US with immediate effect in addition to his current roles.
Chief exectuive officer Carsten Coesfeld said: “Our US business is our biggest opportunity for growth and already we have seen a strong Q1 performance. Having worked closely with our talented team over the past few months I am convinced that there is so much more we can achieve together. During the last year we have seen increased demand for our inspiring books and what we do is more relevant than ever because people need trusted sources to help them understand the world.”
Prior to joining DK in 2016, Kelly was strategy and commercial director for Penguin Random House UK & International.
Coesfeld said: “Paul’s wealth of experience, collaborative leadership and entrepreneurial spirit delivers results, and his position on the DK board will ensure the US is central to our future success.”
Kelly said: “I am very excited to take up this new opportunity and work closer with our talented US team. The US market presents huge potential for DK and I am looking forward to accelerating our strategic plans to grow our sales and reach more readers.”
