Juliet Stevenson and Rory Kinnear are among those starring in the audio edition of The Haunting Season (Sphere), a collection of eight original ghost stories.
Featuring stories from different authors, the edition will be released by Hachette Audio on 21st October 2021, “taking the reader from the frosty Fens to the wilds of the Yorkshire moors and feature haunted chairs, spectral games of chess and ownerless footsteps".
Stevenson, who has played roles in dramas including “Truly, Madly, Deeply” and “The Mona Lisa Smile”, will read original stories by Elizabeth Macneal and Natasha Pulley. Rory Kinnear, whose credits include the James Bond franchise, will read those by Andrew Michael Hurley and Bridget Collins. The tales of Imogen Hermes Gowar and Laura Purcell will be brought to life by Gemma Whelan, of “Game of Thrones” fame, while "Harlots" star Rosalind Eleazar will read the stories of Kiran Millwood Hargrave and Jess Kidd.
Sphere commissioning editor Rosanna Forte said: “The stories of The Haunting Season are some of most vivid and vivacious I’ve read, and it’s so exciting to have them brought to life by the enormous talents of this cast. This is an incredibly exciting publication for us at Little, Brown and we hope these stories will be ones people return to again and again for years to come.”
