Hardie Grant Booksis set to publish a new cookbook by London-based chef and restaurateur José Pizarro in spring 2016.
Hardie Grant’s UK publisher, Kate Pollard, working with agent Holly Arnold, bought world rights for Basque: Spanish Recipes from San Sebastián & Beyond.
Pollard said: “José Pizarro is credited with being at the forefront of the Spanish food scene in the UK. In May 2011 he opened José, a sherry bar in Bermondsey, before opening a larger restaurant, Pizarro, later that year. His newest restaurant José Pizarro Broadgate, opened in May. We’re excited to add José to our list of food authors and can’t wait to release Basque in the new year.”
Basque: Spanish Recipes from San Sebastián & Beyond Pizarro wil reveal "some of the best-loved dishes from this region; from Pintxos bars to rustic taverns, Michelin-starred restaurants to family home kitchens," the publishe said.
Pizarro added: “Basque is a hugely important book for me. The cooking that you find in the Basque Country is second to none, and as a Spaniard I am immensely proud to be able to showcase the region's incredible food and ingredients in my new book. My memories of travelling around the region researching this book are absolutely wonderful. The team at Hardie Grant have brought my passion for San Sebastian and its surrounding areas to life in this book."
Pizarro's previous cookbooks José Pizarro’s Seasonal Spanish Food and José Pizarro’s Spanish Flavours were published by Kyle Books.
Hardie Grant will publish Basque: Spanish Recipes from San Sebastián & Beyond in the UK, Australia and US on 24th March 2016.
