Jolly Learning has signed a 10-year licensing agreement with China’s biggest foreign language publisher, FLTRP (Foreign Language Teaching & Research Press).
Under the terms of the deal, which were signed at London Book Fair, FLTRP will have exclusive rights to publish the Jolly Phonics range in Chinese for the market in China. Key titles are the Jolly Phonics Pupil and Teachers Books, which deliver the systematic synthetic phonics, programme, Jolly Phonics for the Interactive Whiteboard, 7 Finger Phonics books, and as well posters, flashcards, workbooks and activity books.
FLTRP plans to publish the range “very quickly” and have the books in use this year, according to Jolly Learning.
Chris Jolly, m.d. of Jolly Learning, said: "We are thrilled at this recognition that Jolly Phonics is the programme of choice to deliver transformational learning to Children in China. The deal represents a huge opportunity to take English language teaching through the renowned Jolly Phonics programme to millions of children.”
Under the terms of the deal Jolly Learning also will visit China twice a year to help schools, both state and private, use the phonics method.
