John Smith looks beyond books with campus brand

<p>Fiona Fraser</p><p>John Smith&amp;Son is to roll out a new campus brand and expand its non-book ranges throughout its stores. It will trial the new "JS Campus" format at the universities of Abertay (Dundee) and Greenwich next month.</p><p>The two shops, chosen because the universities are relocating their bookshop sites, will be doubled in size to 1,500 sq ft. They will stock confectionery, snacks and drinks as well as the stationery, cards, and gift items sold in John Smith's campus stores since last year.</p><p>Both will open in September under the new JS Campus badge.
