John Blake has promoted four members of staff to reflect a new emphasis on digital publishing for 2012.
Deputy managing director Rosie Virgo steps up to managing director; sales and logistics manager Stuart Finglass [pictured] becomes head of UK sales and digital; accounts executive Joanna Kennedy becomes financial director; and editor Allie Collins turns editorial director.
Publisher John Blake said digital sales currently make up about 10-15% of their overall business, with 180 e-books available at the moment and more being added each month, from both the frontlist and backlist.
"We're selling shedloads of e-books, especially in the States," Blake said. "We're really concentrating on that, and will be publishing some books straight to digital. It's very exciting. In a way the whole structure of the business is different, and we wanted something to reflect that." He added that the promoted staff "have all worked really hard through a tough period'.
The publisher reported it has had four e-books in the Amazon Kindle top 10 bestseller charts, and two in the Sunday Times bestseller list over the course of 2011.
