Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker will be among those joining the festival marking the “grand opening” of Foyles new Charing Cross store in June.
He will join authors Val McDermid, Sebastian Faulks, Anthony Horowitz, and double Man Booker Prize winner Hilary Mantel participating in events at the festival, which will run from 11th June – 5th July.
Tickets for the events go on sale at 12pm today (2nd May).
Big names already announced taking part in the festival include Sarah Waters, Simon Armitage, Michael Palin, PD James and children’s laureate Malorie Blackman.
Sion Hamilton, retail operations director of Foyles, said: “Bookshops are where you find yourself surrounded by voices, places where you discover what you didn’t know before. The role of booksellers is to guide readers through this experience and we’re delighted to be joined by some of the most loved writers of our time to recommend new avenues of reading enjoyment for our customers at Foyles 107 Charing Cross Road.”
Foyles’s new Charing Cross Road store ha been designed by architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands as “a bookshop for the 21st century” and will be completed in early June. It is the former home of Central Saint Martins.
