Jane Harris made Inpress interim m.d.

Jane Harris has been appointed interim m.d. at Inpress, a sales and marketing agency for independent publishers.

Harris joins Inpress from her previous role at Quercus, which she joined in October 2012. She has previously worked at Walker Books, and been UK group sales director at HarperCollins. At Quercus, she was executive director, group sales and marketing, responsible for group sales, marketing and PR. She left in July this year, following Hodder's acquisition of Quercus and the restructure of Hachette UK's sales team.

At Inpress, Harris will cover the maternity leave of current m.d. Sophie O'Neill, who will leave tomorrow (17th September).

O'Neill said: "I couldn’t be happier that Jane has chosen to take on the role of Interim Managing Director.  Inpress can only continue to grow and flourish under her leadership. The business and our publishers will all benefit enormously from her industry experience, knowledge and connections."

Harris added: "I am great supporter of independent publishers who, in this increasingly challenging market place, have to be even more creative and innovative on reaching readers.  I hope I can be part of that challenge and make a difference in bringing talented writers and readers closer together for the publishers within Inpress."

Inpress is funded by Arts Council England, and earlier this year has its National Portfolio Organisation funding confirmed for a further three years.
