TV chef Jamie Oliver, whose Ministry of Food (Penguin) cookbook is one of the bestsellers of the year, is to expand his empire into magazine publishing.
Jamie Magazine goes on sale priced £3.95 on December 4th with an initial print run of 140,000 copies, and will be stocked exclusively in W H Smith stores for the first three copies. A bi-monthly publication, it will be "aimed at both Jamie fans and anyone with an interest in good food, travel and celebrity lifestyle". There will be over 100 recipes in every issue, plus a "Monthly Menu" pull-out.
Oliver said: "what really excited me was the opportunity to create a more personal relationship between us all and really push the boundaries of simple and aspirational recipes". He is the first British chef to launch his own magazine.
