James, Feiyu and Ness to star at LBF

Crime writer Peter James, Chinese author and screenwriter Bi Feiyu and children’s writer Patrick Ness will be London Book Fair’s authors of the day at the 2012 event, which will take place between 16th and 18th April.

The author of the day programme showcases one author each day of the Fair, through appearances at seminars, discussions, book signings and photo opportunities.

James, who will feature on day one of the Fair, Monday 16th April, said: "The value of the LBF both as a grand and respected institution and as a forum and showcase, cannot be underestimated". Bi Feiyu, whose novel Three Sisters, which portrays life in modern China, won the 2010 Man Asian Literary Prize, will be author of the day on Tuesday 17th. China is the market focus at LBF this year. He said: "Not only am I excited to be coming to London again, but it also makes me feel that Nanjing, my home town in China, and London are not so far away at all."

Ness, author of the Chaos Walking trilogy, will appear on Wednesday 18th.

Reed Exhibitions director of books and publishing Alistair Burtenshaw said: "The Author of the Day programme has now firmly established itself as one of the key elements of LBF. We are very much looking forward to welcoming such acclaimed authors, all leading lights in their genres, to this year's Fair."
