The Jacqson Diego Story Emporium shop, a children’s bookshop in Essex, is closing next month “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
Owner Jacqueline Johnson said: “As you may have heard, due to unforeseen circumstances the emporium shop will be closing at its current address on 21st May. Jacqson Diego Story Emporium will continue in all of its other forms, including pop ups and events throughout the summer.
The closure of the physical shop is an “annoying and frustrating blip” and the owners hope to find a “new permanent home in the not too distant future," Johnson said.
Jacqson Diego Story Emporium was set up in Westcliff-on-Sea in 2012 by Johnson, a PhD graduate in early modern literature.
She said: “Over the last three years the emporium has exceeded all my hopes in providing a space for children to explore and grow their world through a love of books and creative engagement on their own terms. This will continue wherever we are.”
