Ion Trewin memorial service this autumn

A memorial service for Ion Trewin, who died earlier this year after a battle with cancer, is to be held in the autumn.

Trewin, who was literary director  of the Booker Prize Foundation, passed away on 8th April.

Formerly literary editor of the Times, Trewin then worked at Weidenfeld & Nicolson as publishing director, managing director and editor-in-chief until his retirement in 2006.

He chaired the judging panel of the Booker prize in 1974, and became a member of its management committee in 1989, succeeding Martyn Goff in 2006 as administrator, now called literary director, of the foundation.

A memorial service for Trewin will be held on Wednesday 30th September at at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, London at 11am.
