Black & White Publishing has snapped up Edinburgh-based food and drink reviewer Ailidh Forlan's take on street food.
Ali McBride, publishing director at Black & White Publishing, acquired world rights to Street Food Scotland direct from the author. The book will be published on 24th October.
Forlan’s popular blog and Instagram Plate Expectations features her work as a ‘hungry girl reviewing honestly’ as she explores the newest, most innovative and exciting of the Scottish food scene.
In her debut book, Street Food Scotland, Forlan will cover the history, culture and international influence of street food, and how it came to be so popular in Scotland, featuring the gastronomic entrepreneurs who have made a culinary success of their caravans, market stalls and old police boxes.
Black & White said: "Readers will learn where to find Scotland’s very best street food, from the farmers’ markets of Glasgow and Edinburgh to the artisan camper vans of the Highlands and Islands, the stories behind the vendors and their passion for sustainable, locally sourced, good quality food, and the mouth-watering recipes that have fuelled their customers, all brought to life with stunning photography."
