Ingrid Alexandra signs two-book deal with One More Chapter

The HarperCollins digital-first imprint One More Chapter has signed a two-book deal with Australian author Ingrid Alexandra.

Commissioning editor Hannah Todd bought world English rights for two psychological thrillers from Lorella Belli at the Lorella Belli Literary Agency Ltd. The first book, Across the Water, will be published on 9th July 2020, with HarperCollins Australia publishing the title in Australia and New Zealand.

Across the Water follows Liz Dawson, who lives in a remote house only accessible by boat. Her view to the real world is through her window, where she watches people who live at three identical houses across the creek. She is most fascinated by Delilah Waters and her baby. When Delilah and her baby go missing, everyone in the town believes that it was a murder-suicide, except Liz, who risks everything to uncover the truth about what happened.

Todd commented: "Ingrid’s fantastic atmospheric settings and complex drama make her ‘one to watch’ in the thriller world, and One More Chapter are delighted to be publishing her next novels. When I started reading Across the Water I was instantly transported to rural Australia, sitting in the cut-off house watching the narrative unfold across the creek. The unnerving sense of isolation and tension is palpable and readers are in for a treat!"

Alexandra said: "I’m thrilled to have signed my second novel with One More Chapter and to have had the opportunity to work with their fantastic team. I’m very excited for the release of Across the Water next month!"

Avon Books and HarperCollins Australia published the author’s debut thriller, The New Girl (2018).
