Infinitas Learning, the parent company of academic publisher Nelson Thornes, has acquired academic learning resource provider LJ Create in a deal which the company says will enable it to be a “publisher of the future".
LJ Create serves schools, colleges and industry both nationally and internationally with digital teaching resources in science, technology, engineering and mathematics [STEM]. Clients include the Swale Skill Centre in Kent and Black Country UTC and, internationally, the state of Mexico and the government of Texas.
Through the acquisition, Infinitas plans to further strengthen and expand in vocationally-oriented subjects in Europe and the US.
Paul Howarth, m.d. of Nelson Thornes, said: “LJ Create's innovative digital content is world-beating and fully complements our existing print and digital content portfolio, further enabling our ambition to be a publisher of the future. It also demonstrates the business’s commitment to grow and further develop our expertise in the STEM subjects and be recognised as a leading specialist provider in the industry.”
