The Manchester Book Market, which first took place in 2006, is to return this summer as part of the Manchester International Festival.
The three-day market, the largest outdoor market for independent publishers in the UK, will take place from 17th–19th July. It will feature over 20 presses from around the UK, including producers of poetry and short fiction such as Route Publishing, Crocus Books and Comma; science fiction and fantasy such as Interzone, TTA and Ballista; comics, such as Small Zone and Engine Comics; and new magazines from the region, including Transmission and Bewilderbliss.
Live literature artists from around the region will perform throughout each day, such as Joe Stretch, Tony Walsh and Julian Daniel.
The market has been coordinated by Literature Northwest in partnership with Comma Press and Manchester Specialist Markets.
