Indigo's e-book play

<p>Canada&#39;s biggest bookseller Indigo is planning on getting into the e-book arena with a new digital venture, one that consumers can access without owning a Kindle or a Sony Reader, reports Quill &amp; Quire. The new initiative, which is still in the pre-launch phase, will offer free and paid downloads readable via any internet-enabled device.</p><p>The enterprise will be established as a separately-branded subsidiary of Indigo, and is set to launch in early 2009. &quot;The final details won&#39;t be unveiled until December,&quot; the company tells the Canadian trade newspaper. Material on offer will range from complete e-books for mobile reading to small chunks (chapters, articles and short stories) and user-generated content.</p>
