Posters reminding book buyers that "Mum's The Word" are being made available for indie retailers to encourage Mother's Day sales.
The Booksellers Association has produced a series of designs, which can be downloaded and printed by member retailers at www.indiebound.org.uk, in the form of bookmarks or posters to be displayed or handed out to customers.
The various captions read "Give her something more interesting than your tweet updates to read", "Mum's The Word!" and "Mums Books".
Meryl Halls, BA head of membership services, said: "The Booksellers Association is committed to supporting independent booksellers and one of the new ways we are doing this is to produce marketing materials free for our members. The designs remind customers about upcoming gift-giving occasions and promote books as the perfect present.
"We are encouraging all members to take advantage of this new service."
