Octopus intends to move further into adult brand licensing, spearheaded by its Ilex imprint. As a result, Roly Allen's role will be changing from Ilex publisher to licensing director.
In his new role, according to Octopus, Allen will build relationships with and acquire product from high-profile global brands to be published on the Ilex imprint. He will also continue to sell Ilex US co-edition rights and develop new product ideas working closely with both US publishers and retailers.
A spokesperson for Octopus said: "Brand licensing is a key driver in publishing today and the recent partnerships which Ilex publisher Roly Allen has secured with Marvel, Disney and Ubisoft have resulted in some highly successful publishing."
Allen will report directly to Octopus deputy c.e.o. Andrew Welham in this new role which starts with immediate effect.
Welham commented: "Building upon our presence within adult licensing is a key strategic objective for Octopus and Roly’s track record in this area for Ilex and global relationships within the licensing industry make him the ideal candidate to spearhead this exciting new move."
