Apple's iBookstore is the latest retailer to sign up to Fiction Uncovered as the new promotion for midlist authors attracts 80 submissions.
The online giant joins Waterstone's and Waterstones.co.uk, Foyles, The Book Depository, Amazon.co.uk, W H Smith Travel and indie bookshops through www.localbookshops.co.uk in supporting the promotion, which focuses on midlist authors.
Sophie Rochester, director of Fiction Uncovered, said: "When we launched Fiction Uncovered in October 2010 we knew this promotion had to reach new audiences, and working with the iBookstore will help us to do that."
She added, "For the first year of a new prize or promotion you can sometimes receive a modest amount of submissions so we're delighted to have received over 80 submissions in our first year."
The eight shortlisted titles will be revealed on 19th May. Fiction Uncovered is intended to support those writers who deserve recognition but have yet to receive a major literary prize or media attention, or be picked for retailer promotions.
