Ian Lamb has been appointed to the interim role of marketing and publicity director at Simon & Schuster Children's.
Lamb will join S&S Children’s Books in mid-June, reporting to deputy m.d. Laura Hough. He will be covering the maternity leave of current marketing and publicity director Sarah Macmillan, who is working until the end of June. Lamb will take over leading the team, heading up the autumn 2021 and spring 2022 campaigns as part of S&S Children’s growth plans.
He recently left Bloomsbury, where he worked for 16 years, leading the children's marketing and publicity team since 2014. During that time he spearheaded commercial brands including Harry Potter as well championing a roster of authors and illustrators including Jim Kay, Neil Gaiman, Brian Conaghan and Emily Gravett.
Hough said: "I am absolutely delighted that we have managed to find someone with the wealth of experience and creativity that Ian possesses to cover the maternity leave of Sarah Macmillan. I am really looking forward to working with him, along with our fantastically innovative and passionate marketing and publicity team, to deliver the very best campaigns and care for our authors and illustrators."
Lamb added: "I'm very excited to be joining the amazing team at Simon & Schuster. To be part of an ambitious publishing company that is actively embracing diversity and inclusivity, as well as aiming high with big-hitters across fiction and picture books is a huge honour. I can't wait to get stuck in."
