TV rights were acquired from Jonathan Sissons and Rosie Gurtovoy at PFD. FilmNation TV UK is planning to adapt Girl as a returnable television series.
Kirstie Macdonald, FilmNation TV UK creative director, commented: "Kenya so eloquently and boldly expresses herself in her essays, and we can’t wait to watch her transform that voice into something equally as moving and powerful for television."
Hunt said: "FilmNation Entertainment has produced incredibly bold, memorable and visionary work over the years and I am honoured and delighted to have the opportunity to bring the spirit of Girl to life with Kirstie Macdonald and her phenomenal team."
