H&S renews Hill contract with four-book deal

<p>Hodder &amp; Stoughton has bought the rights for four new novels by chick-lit author Melissa Hill, who moved over to the publisher in 2008. </p><p>Sara Kinsella, senior editor, acquired British Commonwealth rights from Sheila Crowley, literary agent at Curtis Brown.<br /><br />Title and publication details of the new books in the deal are yet to be finalised, but Hodder will publish one book a year.<br /><br />Isobel Akenhead, assistant editor, said: &quot;Reading a Melissa Hill novel really is a treat. Rather like a brilliant night out with your mates, her novels combine wit, laughter, and feel-good love stories, with a series of twists and turns&nbsp; that will keep every reader guessing right until the end.&quot;</p><p>Hill has previously written seven novels; she was published by Dublin firm Poolbeg before moving over to Hodder. <em>Please Forgive Me</em> will be published in library hardback by Hodder in October, and her latest novel <em>Before I Forget </em>is currently at number 1 in Ireland.&nbsp;</p><p>The publisher said it was hoping to boost UK sales of this title by releasing the paperback alongside a major consumer advertising campaign, aimed at getting all women saying &lsquo;I&rsquo;d rather be reading Melissa&rsquo;.<br />&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
