Hodder & Stoughton has acquired a cookbook by Irish TV star and YouTuber Donal Skehan.
Lifestyle editor Sarah Hammond bought World rights from Rosemary Scoular at United Agents.
Skehan is known for easy, fresh, home-cooked food, and his new Irish series on RTE will focus on a subject close to his heart – eating for energy. The recipes in his cookbook are “all about maximising your health through eating delicious and nutrient-packed food rather than any sort of deprivation”.
He has more than 150,000 YouTube subscribers and followers and fans around the world, including in Sweden where he has a Swedish-language TV slot.
Hammond said: “Watching Donal on TV or YouTube, it’s impossible not to be caught up with his energy and enthusiasm. In his new cookbook, Donal will share his recipes to help you feel great without sacrificing flavour or simplicity.”
Skehan, who has presented 10 prime-time TV cookery programmes which have been sold to the UK, France and Brazil, said: “I am so thrilled to be joining the family at Hodder with a book which I am incredibly proud of - it comes from the heart and not only gives me an opportunity to show readers an exciting new side to my cooking but also focuses on achievable, inspirational and most importantly incredibly delicious and exciting recipes.”
Hodder will publish the book in October 2015.
