H&S buys crossover YA series

<p>Hodder &amp; Stoughton has acquired the rights to a new young adult crossover series from Cate Tiernan. </p><p>Senior editor Kate Howard bought British and Commonwealth rights in three books from Alex Webb at the Rights People on behalf of Erin Murphy. <br /><br /><em>Everlasting Life</em> is the first title in the <em>Immortal Beloved</em> series and will come out in autumn 2010. The series is about Nastasya who is immortal and who leads a dark existence, until she decides to change and &quot;turn toward the light&quot;. The next two books in the series are as yet untitled. <br /><br />Howard said the book would appeal to all the Stephanie Meyer fans. &ldquo;They&rsquo;ll absolutely love this and there is a point of difference - she is not a vampire, but she is immortal and a very likable girl.&rdquo;<br /><br />Tiernan has previously written the 15 titles in the <em>Wicca</em> series and four titles in her <em>Balefire</em> series, both published by Puffin and Speak in the UK.</p>
