HQ has promoted Joanna Rose and Claire Brett to strengthen its marketing team.
Rose will become divisional marketing director while Brett has been appointed to head of marketing.
Rose, currently Mills & Boon brand director, will oversee divisional marketing for HQ, HQ Digital and Mills & Boon. She was previously head of marketing at Orion and head of group marketing at Hachette Children’s Books joining HQ in November 2015. She recently directed the rebrand of Mills & Boon and will lead the romance imprint and HQ marketing teams, reporting to executive publisher, Lisa Milton.
Brett, currently HQ campaign manager, will become head of marketing for the imprint. She will be assuming the position from departing head of marketing, Alison Lindsay, who left at the end of February to join Laurence King Publishing.
Brett, who was previously deputy marketing director at Orion before joining HQ in January 2017, will report to Rose.
HQ is currently recruiting for a campaign manager and a Mills & Boon marketing Director.
Milton said: “Great marketing makes a huge difference to book sales and to do so you need a great team. I am therefore delighted to promote Jo Rose into this new divisional marketing director role. Jo brings huge knowledge and creativity as well as incredible leadership and management skills. As Jo takes on responsibility of HQ marketing in addition to Mills & Boon, I know she will be skilfully supported by Claire Brett in her new HQ head of marketing role."
She added: “Claire is one of the most creative and thoughtful marketeers in our industry and I know her campaigns will be key drivers of our success for our HQ books and authors. As we build HQ, we continue to develop and grow, within 15 months we’re achieved a lot, but our ambitions are huge. Jo and Claire will help us to aim high, and then higher.”
