HQ buys guide to 'capturing French woman's allure'

HQ will publish the “ultimate guide to capturing the French woman’s allure in and out of the bedroom”.

Love Parisienne by Elle journalist Florence Besson, Eva Amor, a writer at Clés magazine, and lawyer Claire Steinlen promises to share the “secrets of seduction” with “plenty of tongue-in-cheek humour”.

Charlotte Mursell, editor at the HarperCollins imprint, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights with Sue Brockhoff, publishing director of Harlequin Australia, who will publish in Australia. Rights were bought from Caspian Dennis at Abner Stein on behalf of Kirsten Neuhaus at Foundry, who represents Michel Lafon Publishing, based in France. Chronicle Books will be publishing Love Parisienne in the US and Canada.

It will be published in hardback, e-book and audiobook on the 8th February 2018.

An HQ spokesperson said: “Filled with wonderful illustrations, fabulous tips and plenty of tongue-in-cheek humour, Love Parisienne is poised to take its place amongst bestsellers Parisian Chic and How to Be Parisian, ready to capitalize on the collective desire to capture the French woman’s allure.”

The authors said they were “overwhelmed” by the response in the UK.

Mursell said: “Love Parisienne is much, much more than just a guide to love, it’s the only guide to Paris you’ll ever need.”
