Head of Zeus (HoZ) has signed a three book deal with thriller writer Mark Hill.
HoZ's Laura Palmer acquired world English language rights in a deal with Jamie Cowen of the Ampersand Agency.
The first book, Save Me, is a "twisty" thriller about the five survivors of a childhood kidnapping. It introduces detective Sasha Dawson and is the opener to a new crime series set on the Essex coast.
Palmer said: "Mark is such a compelling writer, with a knack for strong hooks and excellent characterisation, especially of women. He brings something fresh to the genre and I can't wait to publish his new series."
Hill said: "I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining Head of Zeus, a powerful and passionate new force in publishing - if I was a slightly younger man, I’d be doing cartwheels. I’m really looking forward to introducing readers to my incredible new detective, Sasha Dawson. It’s going to be love at first sight."
