Head of Zeus has acquired eight novels in the Donovan Creed series by Kindle millionaire John Locke.
Fiction editorial director Laura Palmer bought UK and Commonwealth rights through Caspian Dennis at Abner Stein on behalf of Lauren Abramo at Dystel & Goderich Literary Management.
Locke initially self-published the series, becoming the first independent author to sell more than one million e-books. Simon & Schuster later signed a print distribution deal with Locke in the US. Head of Zeus will publish the first three books—Lethal People, Lethal Experiment and Saving Rachel—in both print and e-book on 25th October, supported by a “tongue-in-cheek” marketing campaign riffing off the 50 Shades marketing.
