Head of Zeus has acquired the rights to the latest two books in David Gilman’s “epic” Master of War Series and a stand-alone historical novel.
Nicolas Cheetham, digital publisher at Head of Zeus, bought English and Commonwealth rights to Gilman’s next three books, from Isobel Dixon at the Blake Friedmann agency.
Gate of the Dead, the third book in the Master of War series will be published in February 2016. The two acquired books will follow this and will be published in February 2017 and February 2018.
The third acquired title, The Last Horseman, is a stand-alone historical novel set during the Boer War. It will be published in August 2016.
Cheetham said: “Cutting a bloody swathe through the Hundred Years’ War, the Master of War series is medieval historical fiction at its visceral best. We’re delighted to have two more instalments of Thomas Blackstone’s adventures to look forward to. Equally exciting is The Last Horseman, a CinemaScope adventure that takes place over 500 years later, in Dublin and South Africa during Boer War.”
