Hot Key Books has acquired a sequel to Looking for JJ by Anne Cassidy, which won the Booktrust Teenage Prize in 2004.
Editor-at-large Emma Matthewson bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Sophie Hicks at Ed Victor in the new novel, Finding Jennifer Jones.
Publication will coincide with the 10th anniversary of Looking for JJ next year, and the story will pick up on Jennifer Jones' life 10 years after the crime.
Matthewson said: "We are very excited at Hot Key to have acquired the follow-up to Anne Cassidy's groundbreaking novel . . . Finding Jennifer Jones is startingly good, exploring the consequences as Jennifer Jones deals with the ongoing fallout from a terrible crime she committed many years back—when she was only 10 years old."
