Following the success of its launch for YA novel We Were Liars, Hot Key Books is bringing author E Lockhart to the UK on tour, plus publishing the author's backlist title The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks.
Lockhart will tour schools and bookshops in December this year to promote We Were Liars, published in May. The book is nominated for the Guardian Children’s Book Prize and the publisher said it has already sold 23,000 print copies into the UK and export market and 7,500 digital versions. The book has so far sold 8,006 copies through Nielsen BookScan.
Hot Key is also organising a range of promotional activity this summer, including a ‘Books on the Underground’ partnership, giving away 200 books on the London tube network, and will promote the title at Summer In The City, a YouTube blogger convention in London next month.
Hot Key will publish The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks, which is a coming-of-age story about a teenage girl who becomes disreputable over the course of one summer, in digital form 14th August. A print version will follow 6th November.
The publisher acquired the UK, Ireland and Europe rights from the Elizabeth Kaplan Literary Agency.
