Host of new names shortlisted for IPG awards

<p>John Blake, Gallic Books, Carlton and Walker are among the new names to have been shortlisted for the Independent Publishers Awards for the first time. </p><p>In total, 22 companies and three individuals are up for 10 awards, with a further two gongs - the Environmental Award, for which there is no shortlist, and the Independent Publisher of the Year, which is selected from the winners of five other categories. </p><p>The most-nominated companies are Earthscan, with four shortlist places, and Search Press with three, both being up for the Innovation and International Achievement awards. Accent Press and Top That! Publishing have two nominations apiece. </p><p>Bridget Shine, executive director of the IPG, said: &quot;After a rigorous and stimulating round of judging, we are delighted to announce these shortlists for the fourth Independent Publishing Awards. Congratulations to everyone who has made the lists, and thank you to every company who took the trouble to enter.
