James Horobin, previously group sales, marketing and publicity director at Simon & Schuster, is to join the recently launched Bonnier Publishing Fiction division as executive director with responsibility for sales and marketing.
Horobin, who left S&S last month, will take up his new position in September.
Mark Smith, chief executive for Bonnier Publishing Fiction, said: "I'm delighted that James is joining us to lead our sales and marketing efforts across our fiction imprints. James brings a wealth of experience and tradecraft to our growing business and it is exactly these skills that will help our authors achieve the success they deserve." Smith added that he was looking forward to bringing Horobin's "commerciality, energy and flair" to Bonnier.
Horobin said Smith's "impressive track record, energy and ambition for growth make Bonnier a very exciting place to be", adding: "I'm really looking forward to engaging both trade and consumers across the adult and children's lists."
Smith joined Bonnier to head up the fiction division last December.
Jane Harris was appointed as executive director for children's fiction in February.
