Homegrown fiction helps Irish market grow in 2019

Ireland’s book market continues to grow, with value up 4.6% to €47.13m for the year to date, thanks in part to remarkably strong homegrown fiction.  

As the Irish economy booms—growing 8.2% in 2018— so does the book market. Last year was a stunning one for Irish print books, with volume and value soaring 6.4% and 6.5% respectively year on year through Nielsen BookScan, compared to a far more sluggish 0.3% boost in volume and 2.1% increase in value for the UK market in 2018.
