Simon & Schuster Children’s has appointed Holly Tonks, mostly recently commissioning editor at Tate Publishing, as senior commissioning editor of picture books and novelties.
Tonks will join the company on 4th December and will report to editorial director Helen Mackenzie Smith.
“I'm thrilled to be joining the exceptional team at Simon & Schuster,” said Tonks. “I have always admired the list, especially the dedication to nurturing new talent and creating truly engaging and inspirational picture books. I'm excited to take on this new opportunity and can't wait to get started.”
Mackenzie Smith added: “‘With her broad range of knowledge and experience across classic brands and exciting new talents, we are confident that Holly is going to be the perfect addition to our team, and we’re so looking forward to welcoming her to S&S.”
Tonks started her publishing career as literary assistant to Hilary Delamere at The Agency and has also worked at Penguin Random House.
